Built in 1907 deep in the forest, this sanatorium for workers suffering from lung disease was based on the innovative concept of occupational therapy. With the triumph of antibiotics and the general improvement in working and living conditions in the 1960s, sanatoriums for consumptives became less important and this one was closed in 1973. From the 1970s onwards, the buildings were used for other purposes in the fields of education and care for the elderly.
They were finally abandoned in 1998 and have been falling into disrepair ever since.
